The Entry/Exit System (EES) is a new scheme that will be established in the near future, by the European Union. The Entry-Exit-System (EES) is a European-wide IT system that is planned to help border guards and EU countries monitor the entry and exit of third-country nationals. This is a major undertaking being carried out by the European Union in preparation for the launch of its ETIAS visa-waiver system. The key body of the EES is eu-LISA, the European agency for the operational management of large-scale IT systems, which is headquartered in Tallinn, with an operational site in Strasbourg and a back-up site in Sankt Johann Im Pongau (Austria).
